Montevideo Express (5 of 5): People on the Streets
ByIf Montevideo’s architecture is the heart of the capital’s distinctive aesthetic charm, then the city’s residents are most certainly the pulse that brings it to life. Whether gathering together for social events on La Rambla, sipping maté and quietly reflecting in the city’s myriad parks, or celebrating a special occasion with a feast at one of Mercado del Puerto’s numerous parrilladas, Montevideo’s residents seem to truly understand how to wring the most fulfillment out of life. The following are some of my favorite shots of the people I encountered on Montevideo’s streets during my recent stay.
Check out the high-resolution versions of these and other shots from my trip to Montevideo in my Flickr set.
